VAMP welcomes in the month of MAY with a BANG!

Hello VAMPers! We've been busy little bees over here the past few weeks. Lots going on in April and even more in MAY! The first week of the month is starting out with a BANG!

First on the schedule is WHERE IT'S AT! Thursday night! This is a night of Northern/60s Soul/R&B/Funk. Fernando and myself are the hosts and each month we welcome guest DJs to help us keep the party fun and fresh! This month we've got Downtown Dana G & DJ Dirty Dishes to assist with the musical selections! The party starts at 9pm and goes until close. Located at The Legionnaire Saloon at 2272 Telegraph Ave, Oakland, California 94612, which is the block between Grand and 23rd. In addition to our guest DJ's, there will be a band performing upstairs...MIDTOWN SOCIAL! Next up, we've got FIRST FRIDAY's PARTY at VAMP! In conjunction with LeQuiVive Gallery, we are super excited to be hosting the first ever solo show for KOLEO! Plus we've got music provided by Oakland's Future Trio(8-9pm) plus guest DJ Marcos Juárez(9 -11pm)

"After ten years painting (five in Paris, five in Oakland) I am happy to present you my first solo show: Koleorama. The show focuses on the life and evolution of my human looking characters, from birth to death.

This show is also a way to say goodbye to the beautiful city of Oakland, CA. The city and its people inspired me a lot, and I hope you can come and see the result.

This is the best place to get down and dance all night long! Unfortunately, we won't be able to make it out there this month, but we've got a good excuse...we'll be at the Os Mutantes show! If you've got tickets for that, we look forward to seeing you there! Who knows...if we've got enough energy, we may very well make a pit stop at the Lower Bottoms on the way home!

As always, tons of new records keep hitting the floor on a daily basis! Spent a lot of time last week and over the weekend updating our ROCK section and getting our Jazz and Soul sections tip top! Visit the shop for the latest! Remember that we're open every day from 12noon until 6pm, with the exception of Monday, which is our day off. :)
